Actually it has been a long couple of days!! Back to Thursday.....Samantha did NOT wake up happier! She was miserable and at that point I knew we had to see the doctor. Fortunately we were able to get an appointment at the clinic down the road rather than driving all the way to Tyler! Brianna told her, "Don't worry they just listen to your heart...no "shocks" (shots) today". It was pretty sweet. Brianna held Samantha's hand throughout the majority of the visit and was quite pleased to get a sticker in the end! Naturally Brianna picked out Strawberry Shortcake and Samantha, well Samantha picked Superman! She is on antibiotics and a super duper cough medicine and seems to be doing better now. I don't think she has worn regular clothes since Wednesday! Being sick has without a doubt made her a pajama girl!! (I even let her stay in her pj's to do to the doc and the grocery to get her prescriptions!)
The whole pharmacy thing was an adventure....a drawback to living in a small town that I hadn't thought about....only ONE pharmacy so it was kind of crazy!!
So while Samantha seems to be perking up a bit, yesterday morning Brianna woke up with the funk! The cough, the fever, just like little sis.
We actually had a holiday party here last night and the girls stayed next door with Mimi and ChaCho. (LIFESAVERS!) Actually they spent most of the weekend there. They were troopers and hung in there despite not feeling %100 (that's what I know anyway....unless Mimi is holding back on me ;o)
I'm sad because we were supposed to go to a birthday party today for a little boy named Carter who lives here at HLR and we know through MOPS. The girls actually got their first party invite in the mail from a friend.....not just one of our friends with kids! They were excited and we have been talking about Carter's party for a while but it is funny they have not mentioned it since Friday. Kind of bummed they couldn't go but I'm sure we will have plenty ahead of us!!
So for now I'm giving Brianna some of Samantha's cough Medicine and I guess tomorrow we may have to visit the Doc again if she isn't seeming any better. I don't know but chances are she may need an antibiotic too. Better safe than sorry with Christmas coming I guess. I can still count on one hand the number of times she has been on them in 3 years so that isn't too shabby!
