Seriously, some days I believe that Brianna suffers from Multiple Personality disorder! Samantha is starting to show symptoms as well! It is amazing how one minute you have the SWEETEST little girls and then before your eyes they become demons!! Don't get me wrong, I know that overall they are great kids but oh my word. Some days the amount of whining and screaming is enough to drive me to need a glass of wine...before breakfast! (Don't worry, I would never actually do that!) We have a "naughty step" and I naturally do not like to use it but I do what I have to. I have now resorted to making them sit there when they are crying for no reason. I don't need them screaming at my feet when I'm trying to talk to the other or do something. So now they sit. They are told when they are done crying they may get up. At this point it isn't exactly preventing these irrational breakdowns but at least they no longer are happening right next to me!
We are slowly settling back into a routine now that the holidays are done, or at least trying to! New Years was a blast. Total chaos with tons of kiddos around! I laughed until it hurt several times and I couldn't tell you the last time that had happened. We finally just got the downstairs Christmas tree down this past weekend. I have a few things left to put away downstairs but for the most part Christmas is gone. Next I will tackle the upstairs tree.
There are too many things around here that need to be done and they are not exactly difficult projects but they are not exactly easy with the kind of "help" that I have readily available! I did go through some of the girls clothes this morning...thought I had done a pretty good job then once I was done realized there was a stack of shirts on Brianna's bed because they were "helping" to fold laundry!
This week is a big week here! Tomorrow is our last Little Gym class of the session and this week is referred to as "Show Week". Brianna is VERY excited! She has been working on a routine with her dance class that I can not wait to see! There will be a full house there to see it from our family alone! Brian will be joining us, as well as Mimi, Cha Cho and Grandma Mae! I will bring the video camera for sure!
We did receive some sad new yesterday regarding Little Gym. Not only is this the last week of the session but it will be the last week PERIOD. The Little Gym of Tyler is closing. I found out from Rachel who had taken Lanie to her class yesterday morning. I have to say, my stomach kind of dropped! Within an hour I was feeling much better though. We are going to an open house on Saturday at "Elite Gymnastics". The gym has been around for a while and I spoke to the owner who seemed great. He is wanting to expand to include a Preschool gymnastics program as well as Mommy and me classes. Samantha's LG teacher Christy will be working with him to start this program and several of the other teachers that we have become familiar with will be going there as well! I'm hoping that it all works out. They will not have dance and I think Brianna may be a little disappointed but hopefully by the fall whey will add the dance classes. Hopefully this will be a good change. Samantha loves little gym as well but lately I have been thinking she is bored with it. She just wants to do her own thing. I can't get her to go on the bars, on a good day I can get her on the beam. Brianna did the same thing to me last year. It gets frustrating sometimes. They are both able to do all kinds of things there but will not do anything they are asked to do. They must do it on their own. STUBBORN!
